Empty Chair Campaign in Kyiv
Photograph of the Ukrainian Centre’s Empty Chair Campaign, which was staged in Mykhailivska Square in Kyiv on 15 November 2018 – the date of the annually observed Day of the Imprisoned Writer – to protest cases of incarcerated writers, including the Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, whose name can be seen on the chair at the centre and forefront of the photograph. This campaign was co-organised by the Ukrainian Centre, the Centre for Civil Liberties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. This photograph was taken by Oleksandr Khomenko.
