Carol Ann Duffy’s PEN Pinter Prize
Cartoon by the artist Martin Rowson for the 2012 PEN Pinter Prize. Each year, the English Centre presents the winner of the PEN Pinter Prize with a cricket-themed cartoon of themselves, with Harold Pinter – an avid cricketer and former vice-president of the English Centre – usually watching from the sidelines. The recipient in 2012 was the poet Carol Ann Duffy, who can be seen batting whilst Pinter and the prize’s previous winners, Hanif Kureishi and David Hare, spectate from a bench.
