Belgian French-Speaking Centre’s 1922 statutes
The Belgian French-Speaking Centre’s first ever statues, 1 October 1922. Known at this time as the Club des Écrivains Belges (C.E.B.), the Belgian French-Speaking Centre created this document to set out its criteria for membership, the process for electing committee members, its connections with other Centres including those in London and Paris, its conditions for inviting guests to dinners, as well as the fixed membership fee of ten francs. In 1922 the Belgian politician and writer Louis Piérard travelled to London with his daughter to personally hand deliver a draft of these statutes to John Galsworthy, president of PEN International (1921-32), thus establishing Belgium’s first PEN Centre.

Les premiers statuts du Centre belge francophone, 1 octobre 1922. Connu à cette époque sous l'appellation de Club des Écrivains belges (C.E.B.), le Centre belge francophone a créé ce document afin d'établir ses critères d'adhésion, le processus d'élection des membres de comités, ses connexions avec d'autres Centres, incluant ceux de Londres et de Paris, ses règles entourant les invitations à dîner, ainsi que les frais d'adhésion fixes de dix francs. En 1922, le politicien belge et écrivain Louis Piérard a voyagé jusqu'à Londres avec sa fille afin de délivrer en main propre une première version de ces statuts à John Galsworthy, président de PEN International (1921-32), procédant ainsi à l'établissement du premier Centre PEN en Belgique.

En 1922, el político y escritor belga Louis Piérard, viajó a Londres con su hija para entregar persionalmente un borrador de estos estatutos a John Galsworthy, presidente de PEN Internacional (1921-32), estableciendo así el primer Centro PEN en Bélgica.
