Audience at a Sextas Poéticas event

Photograph of a speaker and the audience at a Sextas Poéticas (Poetry Friday) event, which was organised by the Guinea-Bissau Centre and took place in Bissau in January 2019. The Guinea-Bissau Centre hold Sextas Poéticas gatherings every month, inviting members of the public of all ages to meet and discuss culture, education, and literature. At each event a senior citizen who has made a significant contribution to the cultural field is invited to talk about their legacy in order to inspire the new generation.

El Centro de Guinea-Bisáu organiza los encuentros Sextas Poéticas cada mes, invitando a un público de todas las edades para hablar sobre cultura, educación y literatura. En cada ocasión, un ciudadano que ha hecho alguna contribución destacable en el campo cultural es invitado a hablar de su legado para inspirar a las nuevas generaciones.
