Adichie receiving the 2018 PEN Pinter Prize

Video of a speech given by the Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie upon recieving the 2018 PEN Pinter Prize, which was filmed by the English Centre at a ceremony held on 9 October 2018 at The British Library in London. The PEN Pinter Prize was established by the English Centre in 2009 in memory of Nobel Laureate playwright Harold Pinter, former vice-president of the English Centre and member of the Writers in Prison Committee, and is awarded to writers whose work – in the words of Pinter’s 2005 Nobel speech – casts an “unflinching, unswerving gaze upon the world”. The title of Adichie’s talk was Shut up and Write.

Vídeo de un discurso de la escritora nigeriana Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie al recibir el premio PEN Pinter 2018, grabado por el Centro Inglés durante la ceremonia, celebrada el 9 de octubre de 2018 en la British Library de Londres. El PEN Pinter Prize fue establecido por el Centro Inglés en 2009 en honor al dramaturgo Harold Pinter, premio Nobel, que fue vicepresidente del Centro Inglés y miembro del Comité de Escritores en Prisión. Se otorga a escritores cuyas obras - en palabras de Pinter en su discurso al recibir el Nobel en 2005, moldean una «visión del mundo férrea e inquebrantable». El discurso de Adichie se tituló Shut up and Write.
