2010 PEN México Award recipients
Photographs of the 2010 PEN México Award recipients, who were awarded the prizes in recognition of excellence in journalism, literature, and work in human rights in their respective fields. From left to right are: Luis Miguel Aguilar, Mexican poet; Marta Lamas, Mexican anthropologist and political science professor; a representative from Taller Leñateros, a cultural collective of contemporary Mayan artists based in Chiapas; Ramón Xirau, Mexican poet and philosopher; and Ginger Thompson, American journalist. This awards ceremony took place at the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City on 19 April 2010. Here, the recipients can be seen standing before murals painted by the artist Diego Rivera.
