1978 International Conference

Among them, from left to right, are: Josep Palau i Fabre, president of the Catalan Centre (1976-79); Alexandre Blokh, international secretary of PEN International (1981-98); Josep Vicenç Foix, founding member of the Catalan Centre; and Mario Vargas Llosa, president of PEN International (1976-79). A relationship between PEN International and UNESCO was established at this conference, and the Catalan Centre’s Programme and Translation Committee was created.
